Association Nationale des Infirmiers (ères) du Congo (ANIC) Komba Djeko Brief description about DRC The goal of the association is to promote the nursing profession in order to guarantee to the nurses - and the Congolese community - quality health based on nursing ethos (ANIC, 2010). ANIC has developed a program of public relations with the objective to know and inform governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as its members of the existence and functioning of its structures (ANIC, 2009). The Association has set its 2011 priority on reorganizing nurses at country level following post armed conflict divisions and to advocate for the creation of a nursing council. The Lesotho Nurses Association (LNA) The LNA was established as a successor of the Lesotho Nursing Association which itself succeeded the High Commission Territories nursing Council (HCTNC). LNA now operates independently with the objectives of providing adequate and efficient nursing care in Lesotho; raising the status, maintaining the integrity and promoting the interest of the nursing profession; considering and dealing with any matters affecting its members; ensuring professional development of its members through education, workshops, seminars, refresher courses; encouraging and supporting research amongst its members ;collaborating with the public, governmental, non-governmental, regional and international organizations. Its membership includes registered nurses, nursing assistants and student nurses who pay subscriptions. Assoaciation Nationale Des Infirmiers Et Des Sages- Femmes De Madagascar (ANISM) was established in June 2009. Its purpose is to help the Health Ministry to realize the National policy of Health in Madagascar; to fulfill the mandate of nurses and midwives; lobby for improvement of working conditions of nurses and midwives in Madagascar and to share experiences with other health care professionals globally. Membership is made up of qualified nurses and midwives working in both public and private sector. The Association is affiliated to SANNAM. |

The National Association of the Nurses of Mozambique (ANEMO) is a civil society organization established on the 4th of December 1989, with corporate entity, administrative and patrimonial autonomy. Its operations are headquartered in Maputo with offices in the country’s provincial capitals. The aims of ANEMO are to foster scientific, technical, cultural and professional education of its members, the nurses and their role in the politics of health in the country. Membership to the Association is voluntary and members pay a monthly fee set by the General Meeting of the Association from time to time. At present ANEMO carries 3,150 members out of the 9,200 nurses in the country. ANEMO is affiliated to the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and SANNAM. |

Tanzania National Nurses Association (TANNA) Tanzania National Nurses Association (TANNA) was established in Tanzania on 29th November1971. Aim of the association is to represent all professional nurses, advancing their welfare and excellence in nursing and healthcare. Members Currently TANNA has a total number of 8,500 members out of 23,000 Registered and Enrolled nurses throughout the country. Membership is open to all Nurses or Midwives licensed by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council or any other statutory organ vested with power or to regulate nursing profession in Tanzania and who does not have a license under suspension or revocation. Associate membership is open to any student nurse and any other interested individuals and parties. Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) was inaugurated in 1980. It is a voluntary, nonprofit making organization. The purpose of ZINA is to unite Zimbabwe Nurses, promote professional interests and safeguard their socio economic welfare. Membership is derived from nurses from all sectors including student nurses and they pay subscriptions but student nurses pay 50% of the prescribed subscriptions. ZINA is affiliated to ICN, PSI, ECSACON, Zimbabwe Aids Network and SANNAM. |
